Majlis — a quantum community for the Gulf.
A majlis is where people sit down and work something out together. This one is for
anyone in the region who wants to learn quantum computing properly, and for the
cryptography work that has to happen whether or not the hardware arrives on schedule.

Gap one
Nobody teaches the part that is hiring.
The established quantum communities teach quantum computing, and they teach it well.
None of them teach post-quantum cryptography migration, which is the skill with
budget attached to it today. Banks and ministries are staffing for it now, a decade
before a quantum computer breaks anything.
One of our four tracks is PQC. It is the one most likely to get you paid.
Gap two
The Gulf has the funding and no community.
Qatar has a national quantum programme, a research centre at Education City and a
concentration of energy, logistics and financial infrastructure worth optimising.
What it does not have is a place for people at the start of this to find each other,
in their own time zone, in their own languages.
Sessions run at Gulf hours. Material comes in English and Arabic.

T1
Foundations
6 weeks · no prerequisites beyond linear algebra
Qubits, gates, interference and measurement, built by running circuits rather than
reading about them. Every session ends with something you constructed yourself in
the simulator on this site.
T2
Optimization & machine learning
8 weeks · Foundations or equivalent
Formulating a real problem into QUBO and Ising form, which is where most quantum
projects actually fail. Then variational algorithms, quantum kernels, and honest
benchmarking against the classical solver you would otherwise use.
T3
Post-quantum cryptography
8 weeks · developers and security engineers
The employable one. Reading the NIST standards without a cryptography degree,
building a cryptographic inventory of a real estate, hybrid key exchange, and what
breaks when you turn it on. Taught from migration work, not from a textbook.
T4
Quantum networks
6 weeks · Foundations or equivalent
Entanglement distribution, repeaters, key distribution and why distance is such a
brutal constraint. Built on the network simulator, so you can see a link stop
producing key rather than being told that it does.

Cohorts
Twice a year
Tracks run as fixed cohorts so you move through with the same people. Two sessions a week, recorded, at Gulf hours.

Free, always
Notebooks and exercises stay public whether or not you join a cohort. No paywall, no certificate upsell.

Real problems
Anonymised scheduling and routing problems from regional industry, posed as open challenges with published results.
Meetups
In Doha
Monthly in person for anyone nearby, online for everyone else. Talks from people doing the work, not vendor decks.
Being straight about the incentive: we run this partly because it is how we find people to
hire and collaborate with. Nothing is conditional on that, the material stays free either
way, and you will never be pitched a service in a session.

We are a security company, so it would be poor form to collect anything we cannot justify.
